Education System In Russian?

From Year 7 upwards the main focuses are on the sciences - maths, chemistry, physics, biology, as well as Russian language. Veta Slicker: Unlike the USA, we have elementary, middle and high school in one building, and it works great for us. When I was a pupil (we don't call kids students when they are at school, this term is for those who are at the University level), I had 7 or 8 lessons a day. And I had a homework for every single one. We don't have an option to choose our subjects, there is a steady curriculum for that. We learn a lot of things at school starting from Math, Literature, Languages (foreign languages are very important part of our educational system), Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, History (not only Russian history but world history also), Social Studies, Art,! Music, Dances (some schools have them) etc.We also had exams ! after the 9th grade and after the 11th grade.I can talk alot about the system, but the main thing is that it gives much knowledge and possibility to become a student of the University for free (it is based on the entrance exams to the University). The wonderful thing was when I graduted school I got the Gold Medal for being an A pupil (only excellent marks for all the subjects)....Show more
